CBR is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving North and South Carolina. Our Boxers come to us from shelters, humane societies and directly from owners. They enter into volunteer foster homes throughout both states and live indoors with the foster family and other pets. Each Boxer receives a complete physical, immunizations, sterilization, heartworm test and treatment for any illnesses or diseases. We evaluate temperament to ensure that each Boxer we rescue will make a good family pet. These evaluations are achieved through living with the dog and watching him/her interact with children, adults and other pets. All of our Boxers are tested for aggression issues and any other behavior problems. Each dog learns basic house manners and is crate and house trained. We do not accept nor place dogs with known human aggression issues. My name is Willow, I think I am 6 years old but nobody knows for sure and for the life of me I can't remember. I have had a very hard life and due to my previous humans I am afraid of my own shadow. My Foster Dad is taking a lot of time trying to help me come out of my shell so I follow him everywhere he goes. I love to cuddle with my foster Mom and Dad, and long times with them holding and petting me are my favorite times. This goes a long way to show me that humans are great and can be trusted. They decided to put me in a crate at bed time. My foster Dad says that I do not need to be in the crate. At first I was not so sure about it, but, I felt safe in there and now whenever I am afraid I go to that place to feel safe. I am housebroken, but, because in the beginning years of my life I spent almost all of it tied outside on a chain I do not like to stay outside. In fact as soon as I am done doing my business I beat everyone back to the house. Sometimes I need to be lead outside because I never want to be stuck outside by myself again. I am a small boxer I have heard the word pocket Boxer but I think of myself as a Petite Girl Boxer. Right now I weigh 42 lbs which is a little low for a girl my size so my foster family is feeding me dry and wet dog food to give me a better figure. In just the past couple of days I am looking so much better than I did, and you know how much a girl loves a good looking figure. I just love my 12 Year old Boxer Foster brother. He is very slow and takes his time with me and I love him for that. He lays around and I sleep next to him we get along just great. I am not happy with my 2 year old foster brother. He is too fast, to young, always wants to play and does not enjoy the occasional nap/sleep/couch potato situation and he makes me nervous. If I see a cat I will chase after it but the more I am exposed to things the better I may take to it. My foster Mom and Dad keep saying that all I need is a calm family that can give me a lot of TLC and teach me that Humans are fun, dogs like to play and I can sleep without worry. If I could find that fur ever family I would be a great companion and would love them unconditionally for the rest of my life. Update 6/16/14 - Hi all. Just wanted everyone to know that I am doing better, getting stronger and gaining weight. I gained 3.2 lbs since my first update. I am also following some words like sit and lie down. Foster Dad says I sit and lie down when I am told to but sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. He doesnt realize that I only do it for treats, NO TREATS! NO TRICKS! I may be a small Boxer but I, is a smart Boxer. I mean come on would you work for free. Foster Dad took me to the Vet a couple of days ago and I have a Upper Respiratory Infection. Dont know what that is but it must have something to do with the green stuff coming out of my nose and eyes. It seems that I caught this somewhere I lived that had a lot of dogs. Also, I have some kind of skin infection that my body could not fight off in the past because my diet and care was so lacking. So the nice vet (she loves giving me lots of treats, I love treats) gave my Foster Dad a bunch of things called medicine and something called shampoo and sent us on our w
